PCOS & PCOD Diet

PCOS/PCOD treatment in Gurgaon

Over a decade, I have devoted my working life to bringing to others, awareness about what I have personally experiences and learnt. These experiences have taught me what I passionately share with all my clients. Scientific research has proved time and time again that when we change our daily habits, we not only improve our health but also avoid many of the illnesses that plague the society today. One of the most important area of change involves the way we eat.

Common hormonal disorder PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) affects one in four women. The sex hormones get out of balance. Normally the ovaries make a tiny amount of male sex hormones (androgens). In PCOD (Polycystic Ovary Disease) they start making slightly more androgens. This may cause you to stop ovulating, getting acne and extra facial and body hair. The body has a problem using insulin efficiently. When the body does not use insulin well, blood sugar levels go up. Over time this increases your chance of getting diabetes. To treat PCOD your doctor might prescribe birth control pills, metformin to help you have a regular menstrual cycle or fertility medicines, if you have trouble getting pregnant. All this will bandage the existing symptoms only to exaggerate side effects later.

A clean eating plan, however can go a long way in treating the causative factors and finally eliminating and curing the disease. The overwhelming evidence of contemporary science is that food is a major contributing cause for PCOD and other major illnesses. The particular dietary factor most implicated in this relationship is the overconsumption of simple sugars and hormone injected dairy. The interesting thing about this problem is that they can often be prevented and managed with simple adjustments in our daily living.
